LIFE SKILLS
Life Skills is a basic needs intervention. It is the nuts and bolts. Life Skills help develop proficiencies such as budgeting, seeking out and utilizing community resources and giving the family a support system for when the going gets rough. Life skills Parenting: is utilized to work with families to build skills necessary to parent their child. This services is also beneficial to those who need help job hunting, meal planning, budgeting, etc. Our Life Skills workers, work with families to come up with a game plan focusing on the families strengths. It is our goal to help the family build and maintain healthy bonds.
PROGRAM GOALS
The goal of life skills intervention is to:
- Focus on family strengths
- Teach the family to work with community agencies
- Develop and enhance parenting skills
- Develop and enhance communication skills
- Crisis intervention
- Support and teach day-to-day living skills
STAFF QUALIFICATIONS
Each worker has a minimum of a Bachelors degree, and at least one year experience working in a mental health related field. Non degreed workers must have a High School Diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of five years experience working in a mental health related field.
Estimated length of services is typically one to three months.
These services can be referred through single case agreement, core services and private pay. Please contact us for more information.
